Welcome to Like Steel Waster web-page.
My name is Carlos Negredo. After several years studying and researching Historical longsword Fencing, any martial artist begin to research good tools to practice and train this martial art.
As current coordinator, lieutenant and student of the Sala de Armas El Batallador (Zaragoza), and with the help and collaboration of all the other students that form it, I sincerelly believe to have found a tool that supplements the irreplaceable steel sword like weapon of training.
The waster or wooden sword exist for many centuries like war training tool, trying to simulate a real sword, but being infinitely safer.
There are three main problems: realism, durability and safety.
Thanks to the nylon these wasters has gotten a very important innovation in realism, approaching to the behavior of the steel, in durability, since it is really difficult to put an end to them, and in danger, since they are flexible.
